- Your household income is at or below the limit for the specific HUSKY program that applies to you

Applying for Medicaid
Connecticut has multiple ways to apply for HUSKY, so you can choose the option that works for you.
For adults under 65:
- Online: You can apply for HUSKY through Access Health CT at accesshealthct.com
- By phone: Call Access Health CT at 1-855-805-4325
- By mail: Call 1-877-284-8759 to request an application be mailed to you
For seniors (65+) and people with disabilities:
- Online: Apply through the Department of Social Services (DSS) portal at connect.ct.gov
- In person or by mail: Visit or mail your application to your local DSS field office.

After Applying
After you apply, the state of Connecticut will review your application and notify you of your eligibility.
While your application is under review: You may receive a notice in the mail from the state requesting proof of income and proof of identity or citizenship. Make sure to respond promptly so that your application can be processed without delays.
If you’re approved: Coverage may start right away or be retroactive, meaning HUSKY may help cover bills you've already received.
Staying enrolled: Report any changes in income, household size, address, or family status as soon as possible. Watch for renewal notices in the mail and respond promptly to avoid losing coverage.
